Ok, so it’s been like a month

…. I know the posts have suffered. Between the part time job I do from home, housework, spending time with my hubby, and playing with the baby, the blog just hasn’t been a priority. However, I had to share about our amazing time in NYC.

Let’s start with restaurants. For you Top Chef fans, we hit up Tom Colicchio’s place Craftsteak and it was incredible! The food, the atmosphere, the service- everything was top notch. I ate something with chicken liver in it that they brought to the table and wanted to gag at the thought but it was so yummy! We also went to Justin Timberlake’s Memphis style BBQ joint on the Upper East Side, Southern Hospitality. It was more of a sports bar and grill kinda hole in the wall place with football on a million TV’s. Everyone there was so nice and the food was slammin’! We had an awesome time there. On night, Chris and I caught some late nite dessert in Chelsea at Il Bastardo, an Italian place that we saw on The Hills. I know I’m retarded but I love that show and it looked super cool so we checked it out. The service sucked, but the place was really great overall. He and I also caught some late nite sushi and dessert at Koi in midtown after the Broadway show. That place oozed NYC coolness and we got to check out Bryant Park. For lunch we went to little delis around the hotel, and they had some incredible sandwiches. We did not eat a bad meal while we were there. I did so much research and it paid off. Everything was wonderful!

My mom and I went to see Tina Turner in concert and it was AMAZING! She can put on a show, 69 years old and all. Of course, I loved her back up dancers the most :) A bunch of celebrities were there, including Tom Cruise & Katie Holmes. I didn’t much care, but everyone else seemed to. She and I also went to see the Nutcracker at the NY State Theater, performed by the beautiful New York City Ballet. It seriously brought me to tears. I wanted to go and hug every single ballerina when it was over. It made me miss dancing so much. I don’t believe in regrets for most things, but I do regret quitting dance. I danced for 12 years and was actually pretty good. If I had stuck with it, it could have been me up there. Of COURSE I am ecstatic about how my life turned out, but I miss dancing SO much it’s hard to express. I guess it was the way I kind of let go of everything- it was my release. It doesn’t exactly fit into my lifestyle anymore, but watching it in such a fantastic theater performed by the best is pretty amazing. Chris and I went to see All My Sons on Broadway, starring John Lithgow, Diane West, Katie Holmes and Patrick Wilson. It was pretty depressing, but good and well acted.

We all went shopping, did Central Park, the double decker bus tour, saw Rockefeller Center, explored NYC and had a blast. It was a really amazing trip. Presley got sick and didn’t sleep 3 of the 4 nights, but the days were so worth the rough nights. It was the trip of a lifetime and I cannot wait to go back!!!
