Remembering 2008 & Looking to 2009

In church this weekend, Pastor Dino did a panel discussion with three of the top guys at HPC: Pastors Johnny Green, Isaac Williams and Lance LeBlanc. They remembered the best things about 2008 and revealed what they look forward to most in 2009. It got me and Chris thinking, and I wanted to make some lists. I love lists. Remembering what God’s done in our lives builds faith, and setting goals is important for growth.

Anyway, here are our favorite things about this year and the things we want to see happen in 2009 (in no particular order).

Top 8 Wins of 2008
1. Presley Claire Matt
2. Our first home
3. Chris’ new job & promotion after 2 months on the job
4. Being able to give more money to missions and charity
5. Adopting a healthy lifestyle and getting the bodies that come with it
6. Dedicating our child to the Lord
7. Meghan’s two huge job blessings- teaching, then getting to stay at home with Pres
8. Beginning the tradition of praying together every night before bed

Top 9 Goals of 2009
1. Give more money to missions and charity
2. Begin adoption of African baby
3. Be in the Word at least 5 days of every week
4. Continue to get healthy (Meghan get down to 125 lbs. & size 4; Chris get back in the gym)
5. Pay off credit cards and pay down student loans
6. Begin improvements on the house
7. Chris be more successful than ever at work (Achieve Circle of Excellence)
8. Do more outreach, serve others more

What were your favorite moments of 2008? What are you believing God for in 2009?
