Important, Umcomfortable Facts to Think About

There is somewhere in the ballpark of 4.5 million orphans in the country of Ethiopia alone. That number looks like this: 4,500,000. That’s a big number.

Tiger Stadium holds 92,400 people, and when you are in there, it’s feels like millions. You could fill Tiger Stadium 48.7 times and it still wouldn’t hold all of the orphans in Ethiopia.

The booming metropolis of Los Angeles has an estimated 3.8 million residents. It would take about 700,000 more people to fill Los Angeles to equal the number of orphans in Ethiopia.

The U.S. Census Bureau estimated that Baton Rouge currently had about 230,000 residents in 2006. On traffic-ridden streets- with cars barely crawling- it sure feels like more, doesn’t it? Well take the number of people in town here and multiply it by 19.6- then you could equal the number of orphans in Ethiopia.

Noticing a trend here?

Can you imagine almost 49 Death Valleys full of people? Can you wrap your head around filling Los Angeles with almostĀ  a million more people? What would it be like if Baton Rouge was expanded to almost 20x it’s current residential number… and all of those people were innocent kids left with no one to love them or care for them?

Why are we adopting from Ethiopia you ask…

Why not?

Will you help us?
